Time for a little Shootout Fishing League Weekend Wrap Up! The 2026 NetBait Championship from Ojibway Marina was one hell of a way to finish off the season.

Emotions were intense with both Championship on the line and Team of the year on the line. One thing that stood out after the last bag hit the scales was Pressure was not a factor for these teams.

Matt McIntyre and Michael Quesnelle went out in 3rd after day 1 and knew slipping wasn’t an option for they wanted to host the cup! They didn’t slip they put almost the same bag on the scales to keep them where they started! Congrats on 3rd gentlemen. Up next this team brought it! They knew they had to if they wanted to steal the TOY honours being back 10 points going into this final. In the end winning wouldn’t have been enough, but second Place for TOY is an amazing achievement, and second Place in the Championship is a great way to close off 2026!

Congratulations Patrick Feegrade and Kali Tucker on an amazing season! What can we say next about this team? They sure were worried as they knew the team hunting them were no joke. All it took was 1 slip up and the NetBait TOY title would be lost. It literally came down to 5 points, a drop from 4th to 9th this weekend and the drive to be back on top all gone! But Mike Williams  and Jeff Blanchard said Nah Nah! They put up 15lbs themselves on Sunday to claim the Division Team of the Year title, and fish for free in 2027.

Lastly what this weekend was all about! Claiming a 2027 Shootout Fishing League Netbait Championship winner on lake couchiching. The went out on day one with 15.57 putting them in contention by sitting in 5th. Then by dropping the biggest bag of the weekend with 18.55 on the deck, they solidified the Championship win with a more than 1lb gap on the field with 34.12 🏆 Sean Palmer SEAN PALMER and BRIAN GARDY your 2026 Shootout Fishing League NetBait CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS.

Congratulations to all on another amazing season, and miigwech (thank you) to Chippewas of Rama First Nation and Ojibway Marina for being AMAZING hosts
